Shaikan Field – Fractured Carbonate, Iraqi Kurdistan
- ERCE has evaluated the Shaikan field as Gulf Keystone Petroleum’s (GKP) Reserves and Resources auditors since 2014.
- Shaikan is a multi-billion barrel fractured carbonate discovery, with multiple stacked reservoirs in the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous.
- It has a range of oil hydrocarbon types, from heavy oil to gas condensates. The hydrocarbons are also sour, with high H2S content.
- ERCE’s Competent Persons Report was used for GKP’s initial listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2014, when it made the move from the AIM market to the LSE.
