ERCE Welcomes Simon Hayton to the Facilities & Costs Group

Simon Hayton joins ERCE’s Facilities and Costs group as a Senior Development Engineer. He brings 10 years of chemical engineering experience, gained while working for major contractors and operators such as Worley, Centrica, and Mercury NZ, as well as smaller consultancies.

He has extensive experience in conceptual engineering and design, having worked on a number of FEED and pre-FEED studies throughout his career. His work has included assignments within the Oil & Gas, LNG, Geothermal and Petrochemicals industries. More recently he has focused on natural gas processing, syngas, and CO2 removal systems. He has complimentary skills in cost estimation, economic modelling and project engineering.

Simon has a history of working within an integrated team and focusses on good interdisciplinary communication to ensure projects are delivered on time. He enjoys mentoring and has previously led training courses in petroleum economics to international clients.

Simon has primarily worked in the UK and New Zealand and enjoys travel and snowsports, with a particular interest in trying to make the most of Scotland’s ski resorts and the UK’s potential for backcountry ski touring.
