Meet the Asia Pacific Team

Michael Braim

Geophysics Manager

Mike is responsible for the management of the Geophysics Group within ERCE. He coordinates a dynamic and highly technical team, implementing a comprehensive suite of geophysical techniques from pre-stack gather conditioning through to 4D infill target mapping. He has extensive skills in quantitative rock physics, multi-layer depth conversion methods and seismic interpretation which are routinely applied to a multitude of projects worldwide.

He also takes a leading role in a number of our multifaceted audit and subsurface technical projects, integrating datasets from various disciplines to form a comprehensive view on a broad range of subsurface scenarios from prospect identification through to mature field volumetrics.

Michael holds a first class Masters Degree in Geophysics from the University of Leeds and is a member of the EAGE and PESGB.

Stewart Easton

General Manager APAC

Stewart heads up our Asia Pacific team. Since 1994 he held team lead positions with Oil & Gas operators before joining ERCE as Director of Geology in January 2014 from the role of UK CNS Developments Manager for GDFSuez E&P, responsible for the company’s operated and non operated development asset portfolio and UK CNS Exploration Team Leader.

Previously he worked for BHP, Conoco and then GDF Suez. In 2015 Stewart took over operations for ERCE’s Singapore office, providing consultancy services to the Asia-Pacific region.

Stewart has lead multi-discipline teams in M&A, portfolio strategy, licence round evaluation, exploration, geoscience & well operations, field development and project management of pre-development projects. He has worldwide experience with team lead roles in Australia, Vietnam and the UK. He holds a Geology BSc(Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Anna Symms

Staff Geologist

Anna is a Staff Geologist in our Asia Pacific team. Since joining ERCE in 2007 she has been involved in various field evaluation, development and exploration projects, and well operations. She has experience working on projects in South East Asia, West Africa, Kurdistan, Algeria, Libya, Gulf of Suez, Italy, Nigeria, India, West of Shetlands, Madagascar, and the UK and Norwegian North Sea.

Anna leads and manages multi-discipline teams, effectively manages clients, and mentors junior staff. She is an experienced Petrel user for both model building and population and seismic interpretation, and works effectively with other disciplines in order to produce technically sound and integrated models. In addition, she is skilled at assessing reservoir quality and reservoir evaluations, lead identification and prospect maturation.

She has a M.Sc. in Basin Evolution and Dynamics from Royal Holloway and a B.S.c in Geology from Durham University.

Adam Becis

Principal Engineer

Adam is a Reservoir Engineer in our Asia Pacific Team. He has over 10 years experience initially at BHP and more recently Gaffney Cline and Associates and is a key member of our reservoir studies and reserves evaluations group.

He has considerable experience in Oil & Gas production forecasting, reserves estimation, field development planning, near-field opportunity evaluation, supervision of offshore operations, infrastructure integrity systems development and completion design research and development.

Adam has been team lead and contributed to resource assessments, resource audits, expert witness, asset valuations and M&A across the Asia Pacific Region and Central Asia.

He has undertaken reservoir engineering and petroleum engineering studies including oil and gas field reservoir simulation, production evaluation analyses, production forecasting, cost estimation including CAPEX and OPEX, and reserves estimates for a variety of independent oil companies, national oil companies, government organisations and financial institutions.

Mike Cuthbertson

Senior Geoscientist & Reservoir Engineer

Mike is a Geoscientist and Reservoir Engineer in our Asia Pacific Team with five years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
